Returnable Pot Program

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP goes far beyond growing beneficial species. It also includes taking responsibility for what happens after the nursery stock hits the market. With your help, we can meet our goal of reclaiming 50% of the containers we ship each year, and our intention is to re-use as many as possible. By doing so, you’ll be assisting us in attaining a significant reduction in the amount of unrecyclable waste generated from nursery stock container material.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE...

1. Encourage your customers to return the Pennsylvania Pride containers marked “Returnable Pot” to your garden center after planting (it gives you another contact with them, and another reason for them to stop at your business). If you employ a planting service, or plant items for the customer, be sure to save the containers. Please note: only containers marked Pennsylvania Pride “Returnable Pot” are eligible for return to Eaton Farms.
2. Stack and store containers in a highly visible area within the Garden Center, and use signage to encourage customers to return the pots.
3. We’ll be by with a truck twice a year to pick up the containers.
4. Upon returning to the nursery we’ll issue your account 5 cents credit for each container returned.
